Why enslaved Africans jumped into the sea during the middle passage By Anago James Akeem Osho

The act of jumping into the sea from the slave ships by enslaved Africans during the middle passage was an act of resistance. Africans resisted from the first forceful capture. The first Africans that were forcefully captured by the Portuguese sailors from around 1441 or 1444 arrived Portugal with bruises and wounds all over their bodies and Prince Henry the Navigator lamented over the ill treatment but later played along when he realized the economic benefit of enslaving other human beings.

Akwaaba African Travel market 2018: Anago Osho speaks

Anago Osho represented the Badagry Division during the Akwaaba African travel Market. He spoke on the tourism potentials of the area and why Lagos Tourism should be supported because of the enormous tourism potentials of the state. According to Anago Osho, the tourism potential of the area is huge and is more than what people know. He encouraged everyone to visit Badagry and he assured them of coming back and that was why he and his colleagues devised the slogan "The Alluring Badagry". The occasion was chaired by the governor of Lagos state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode who was humbly represented by the commissioner for Tourism, Art and Culture, Mr Steve Ayorinde. It was great to see Sheik Tejan Nyang. He is the principal of the Institute of Travel and Tourism of the Gambia. Ghana was ably represented as well as other countries across Africa and around the world. Many travel and tour companies showcased their products and Dayo Adedayo exhibited his Lagos book. Walter C. Carrington, former U.S Ambassador on a Slave history tour with Anago Osho

The American embassy is very popular in Nigeria, especially the consulate in Lagos. The name Walter Carington is synonymous to the American embassy. The bearer of the name has passionate love for Lagos and Nigeria. As an ambassador and even after retirement his name continued to be a household name and he never stopped coming back to Nigeria. Who is Walter Carrington? He was the United States Ambassador to Senegal from 1980 to 1981. In 1993, the U.S President, Bill Clinton appointed him as the U.S Ambassador to  Nigeria till 1997. His tenure as ambassador was graced by very cordial international relationship between Nigeria and the United States.  He has been visiting Nigeria (since the 1960s) before becoming an American Ambassador to any country in Africa. Some argued that he had done his DNA, and he is Yoruba.  The former American Ambassador to Nigeria and Senegal, Walter Carrington, his wife, Arese Carrington, and friends were on Anago James Akeem Osho Adventures's sla...

YOUTHS AND THE USE OF THE MIND? By Anago James Akeem Osho

What is wrong with young peoples minds? Nothing is wrong but scale of preference and values, either tangible or non tangible. Physical or spiritual. When you go back to history and see where we are coming from. You may realize that Africans and youths of the world are daily polluting their minds with activities that are devoid of development. Yet, not all youths are engaged in such animosity. Some think they are better and know more than others because of their religious affiliation? It is glaring that the sacred books taughr us better than that. Do not follow men, follow the divine and use your mind creatively for the development of the earth. The hope of Africa for instance are its outstanding youths. In every land on the African continent that i have traveled to, the youths are not empowered and they just watch and try to survive by ''doing anything'', traveling abroad to make ends meet and care for their families and often time meet their water loo.  See...

ALABAMA, THE CLOTILDA AND THE LAST ENSLAVED SURVIVOR By Anago James Akeem Osho

Abile (Clara Turner) and her Husband Oluwale Kasola (Cudjo Lewis) in 1910 Is ‘’Home’’ where ever you find yourself (either willingly or not)? This is the question I raised in the case of Oluwale Kasola (Cudjoe Lewis) and his wife Abile ( they were the ones who began the founding of the Africa Town, Mobile Alabama in the United States known as Africa town today). The American state of Alabama is rich in history although some are not pleasant, yet the people can take advantage of the opportunities that seems not to be there. In reality, opportunities are not given it is created. The Clotilda was the name of the recorded last slave ship to the United States of America. ‘’Recorded last slave ship’’, because many came to the U.S.A illegally and were not documented. The Clotilda arrived in Alabama on the night of a Sunday, dated 8 th of July , 1860. Many among the slaves that were taken to the Americas through the slave port of Whydah (Ouidah), Benin republic were of Yoruba St...

WHY PEOPLE HARDLY DISCUSS THE TRAN SAHARAN ENSLAVE TRADE By Anago James Akeem Osho anago.tourism@gmail.com

A woman and about six children and a European male visited the museum. ‘’Hello madam’’, I greeted her and she responded by saying ‘’How are you Anago? Quite a while and how have you been?’’. Another smooth Jeep parked behind her car and she said, ‘’I brought my visitor to you. He wants to learn about the Tran Atlantic slave trade. I told him that you are a reincarnated slave and the right person for the topic”. ‘’Thank you madam for the compliment’’ I responded. About three more people joined the tour group. I noticed among the other group a man whom I later discovered to be an African American. He did his DNA and traced his root to Yoruba land, and Ibadan precisely. The people in this group were very knowledgeable. They came with a purpose and know a lot about African history. The African policy makers should make it compulsory that schools, especially both elementary and high school should learn their history. It seems people of African origin in Diaspora are mor...

WHAT IS TOURISM?

''Tourism is the packaging of history, art, ideas, infrastructure, and the environment. The journey on the path of history is a conscious route to self-discovery. If this is true, the distortion of history by the mischievous minds should be gravely discouraged, just as plagiarism carries prison sentences.  History and Tourism are inseparable Siamese twins''. Anago James Akeem Osho (2017) Anago James Akeem Osho , is an Historian, Museum Curator, Tour Guide, Tourism operator, Author, Historic, Cultural and Heritage manager. mycookeryzone Welcome to MyCookery Zone Food Media|  Last episode of Bukas and Joints (Tour guide) Anago Osho made a shocking revelation during his visit to historical places in the city of Badagry. To be precise, at Badagry slave museum & port.
