In my researches i realized that the history of the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade is still very relative and important. Unfortunately, the continued existence of the Seriki Williams Abass museum in Badagry Nigeria, is threatened by many risk factors. The British colonial government made the compound of Seriki Williams Abass, a monument in 1940, but after the departure of the British government because of Nigeria’s independence in 1960, the heritage site was abandoned. It was in the year 2002, that the then Federal Government of Nigeria, under President Olusegun Obasanjo, re-commissioned the edifice as a National Monument, under the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
