FORMER "RUFF RYDERS" MEMBER TASHA, TOUR NIGERIA WITH OTHER VISITORS WITH DNA CONNECTIONS by ANAGO-OSHO
Anago-Osho's history tour of Nigeria with Tasha, Kay and Mama Haiti (Million) was a transformative experience, bridging cultural divides and reconnecting African diasporic roots.
It was a great journey and Tasha said, "Anago, oh! they lied to us. I should have visited Nigeria earlier".
The tour visits took us to many unplanned places of interests, but the highlights of the tour includes the tour to the Art and Craft Market, Kalakuta Museum where we met Kunle Kuti (Fela Kuti's son) and Shola (an architect). The Badagry Tour was an exploration of historic Landmarks, especially the "Point of No Return". The Slave route is important to Anago-Osho and he has a unique spiritual service to it.
The history trip to Nigeria has DNA connections to it: Tasha have discovered her Hausa/Fulani/Tikar roots via DNA tests. Million celebrated her Haitian Yoruba heritage and Kay awaits her results.
Tasha and Kay have the future plans of mentoring school children, and contributing school items like bags, text books, writing pads, pen, and pencils.
Million intend to return soon to attend a festival and buy more Nigerian arts.
The Impact of the tour was cultural pride and reconnection. The visitors have a deeper understanding of African heritage. They met local people and Tasha was all full of smiles. The visit to the Idumota, Balogun and Ereko market was a good time. Million bought many Aso Oke designs and Kay bought hundreds of fabrics and i lost count of the numbers of waist beads bought. It was fun with the area boys that have been trained by Anago-Osho and they work with him as market tour guides.
The market experience was picturesque and unique. The trip was a bridge building between Africa and Diaspora.
The purpose of Badagry Tour was to create a reconciliation with ancestral roots and acknowledge the historical injustices of the transatlantic slave trade. Despite all odds it's worthy to celebrate African resilience and cultural richness.
