It was a delightful point of view as the commissioning of the Afro - Brazilian Cultural Centre was acknowledged by senior citizens of Popo Aguda as the centre brings childhood memories of the Afro Brazilian quarters' past to the present.
The commissioning was an event organized by the Brazilian Descendants Association (BDA) and the partners in progress; Mr Lawon Adams (Loving Lagos), Anago Osho (Anago James Akeem Osho Adventures) and Mr Remi Dacosta (Redac Tours).
The commissioning of the Afro - Brazilian Cultural Centre was attended by the first Lady to the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwoolu, (who is also a descendant of the Afro Brazilian returnee and her maiden name is Carena), The Hon. Minister Alh. Lai Mohammed who was represented by The Director General of Nigerian Council of Art and Culture Otunba Runsewe.
The Brazilian Ambassador Francisco Luz, was in attendance with other dignitaries like The Senior Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Mr. Solomon Bonu, Lagos Island East Local Government Chairman, Hon. Kamal Bashua, Members of the BDA Board of Trustees Mr. Lawal Pedro SAN, Chairman, Mr. Tayo Bamgbose Martins, Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Ladi Vera-Cruz, Mr. Da-costa Oluremi, Brazilian Campos Carreta Carnival Association, Mr Lawon Adams, Anago Osho and many other dignitaries.
