Badagry Slave Route: The highlights By Anago Osho

The journey from the Lagoon or river side, where the enslaved and chained persons disembark from canoes to continue the burdensome walk on the sandy slave route is tiring.  One of the characteristics of the enslaved person is that he can't complain. Who would he or she complain to? The lamentation of their misery was usually to an unseen force that they believe in. The lamentation is hope that their sorrows and condition will change.  Tour guiding guests on the slave route at Gberefu, Badagry or any other sites requires professionalism. The position or place of the tour guides should never be undermined in heritage interpretation for visitors to have a total experience.  An enslaved person is another persons property. This is the most dehumanizing condition on earth. To be owned by another human being is evil because an enslaved person don't have a will or purpose for living except the owners will. The experience on "the slave route" is important and must be handled b

According to the group, they initially contacted a tour operator with a great website and paperworks, but a colleague of theirs recommended Anago Osho Adventures to organize and lead the tour. It was asserted by everyone in the group that it's one of the risky but best decision they ever made. The referral worked for them. The experience they seek was achieved 100%. CARRETA SEASON By Anago Osho

Photos by Anago James Akeem Osho Adventures  CARRETA SEASON By Anago Osho Carreta season is a season that usher in harmattan across the coastlines of West Africa, but the celebration is synonymous to Lagos Island and Badagry. The main actors are children but the adult carreta groups are more organized and advanced. This write up is concerned about the children carreta. The carreta season is a time when kids go around their immediate communities in Lagos, characterized by dance and songs during december and atimes during easter. Some of the kids are masked, and these are usually the dancers. Others come behind with songs and drumming. The purpose is to sensitize the community that festive or celebration season is here. It precedes Christmas and new year in Lagos, Nigeria. Grown ups or adults are expected to give tips for the entertainment and it also serves as a form of encouragement.  These children usually share the money at the end of the day and in some cases, they create a group th

THE PROFESSIONAL TOUR GUIDE AND THE VISITOR By Anago Osho

THE PROFESSIONAL TOUR GUIDE AND THE VISITOR By Anago Osho The best of the professional tour guide is propelled when he or she meets a well travelled or versatile visitor or a person who asks many questions with the purpose of learning or rediscovering. It makes the interpretation of history or artefacts come alive easily. Tour guiding by a professional also needs motivation on the part of the visitor but if no encouragement is ascertained, the professional tourist guide remain capable and in charge with the purpose of providing a satisfying experience. No compromise on visitors satisfaction. @anagooshoadventures  #tourguideanagoosho  #tourguide  #besttourguide  #besttourguideever #wftga #wftgamembers

4 Days Walking Tour From TARKWA BAY TO BADAGRY: Pollution, Beauty and History By Anago Osho

4 days walking tour from Tarkwa Bay to Badagry: Pollution, Beauty and History By Anago Osho The 62 km ocean trail and hike along the Coast of Lagos State took four days from Tarkwa Bay to Badagry, with creative stops, wellness, camping, villa stays, great food, great company, and yes, very - very great physical challenge. On this ocean trail walking tour, Mr Akin of Pop Beach Club, observed the decline of the birds and crab population on the shores compared to his experience on the same trail in 2018. The truth of his observation was that back then, you will be forced to walk on the other side of the beach, away from the shore because of the armies of crabs on the sea shore and numerous birds flying above in the sky as they set their prying eyes on the numerous prey to feed on but today, all these spectacles seems to have disappeared. It is sad that plastic pollution had taken over the ocean shores of Lagos and it's true that it's the same experience across the world. It is dis
