Walter C. Carrington, former U.S Ambassador on a Slave history tour with Anago Osho

The American embassy is very popular in Nigeria, especially the consulate in Lagos. The name Walter Carington is synonymous to the American embassy. The bearer of the name has passionate love for Lagos and Nigeria. As an ambassador and even after retirement his name continued to be a household name and he never stopped coming back to Nigeria. Who is Walter Carrington? He was the United States Ambassador to Senegal from 1980 to 1981. In 1993, the U.S President, Bill Clinton appointed him as the U.S Ambassador to  Nigeria till 1997. His tenure as ambassador was graced by very cordial international relationship between Nigeria and the United States.  He has been visiting Nigeria (since the 1960s) before becoming an American Ambassador to any country in Africa.
